blog #1:
the case for israel and swordswingers with afros

i've just finished reading The Case for Israel by Alan Dershowitz.. blog#1 will consist of one or two thoughts on the book:

1. there was a lot of information to take in regarding the situation from first aliyah to the modern day withdrawl though i think the lasting impression for me was of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj-Amin al Husseini, and his support of the Nazis during World War II - visiting Hitler on the eve of the 'final solution' and discussing plans to create a concentration camp in Palestine once the Jews of Europe had been disposed of..
2. i'm also really disappointed with Noam 'King of Left Wing Spin' Chomsky.. here is a self-hating Jew who was alive at the time of the second world war and yet writes a foreword to a book by a French Holocaust denier.. he defended his actions by claiming that nobody believes that Holocaust denial is Anti-Semitic (what?!) and, when challenged, refused to debate Mr. Dershowitz on the subject..
Chomsky and Dershowitz did debate on the future of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at Harvard last year (you can download the talk here), which now seems a little ancient considering the recent crisis in Lebanon.. anyways.. Dershowitz also recently published an article on some Chomsky-Lebanon lies via FrontPageMag here..

AfroSamurai is finally here.. well in a couple of months anyway.. just watch the trailer on the website - i can't wait! post-apocalyptic anime action with Samuel L. Jackson providing the vocals and the RZA with the soundtrack.. speaking of Samuel L. Jackson, i'm probably off to watch Snakes on a Plane tonight at the Odeon - a film that's become a cult hit before even being shown in a single cinema..
